Deník.cz: Another manufacturing plant to be built in the Kolín industrial zone, creating more than 200 new jobs
TKG Automotive Czechia has commenced work on its investment in a new manufacturing plant in Kolín–Ovčáry, one of the Czech Republic’s key industrial locations. The project, covering a total area of 10,200 m² and representing an investment of more than EUR 20 million, is being delivered by Demaco under a Design & Build model.
The new plant will focus on the production of stamped and welded sheet metal components, primarily for the automotive industry. Upon completion, scheduled for the first quarter of 2027, it will create more than 200 new jobs in the Kolín region, spanning production, technical, engineering and management positions.
The official groundbreaking ceremony took place on Wednesday, 10 June, and was attended by representatives of TKG Automotive Czechia, led by Ertan Demirdüzen, Chairman of the Board of TKG. Representatives of Demaco, Yusen Logistics and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic were also present. The event was further attended by Metin Feyzioğlu, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Czech Republic.
“Our new plant in Kolín represents an investment of more than half a billion Czech korunas and an important step in the further development of the TKG Group in Europe. Production will focus on stamped and welded sheet metal body components for the automotive industry and, once operational, will create more than 200 new jobs. We believe that combining TKG’s technological know-how, the strength of the Czech industrial environment and the expertise of the partners involved in the project will provide a solid foundation for our continued growth,” said Ertan Demirdüzen.
The new manufacturing plant will be equipped with state-of-the-art technologies designed to meet the requirements of advanced Industry 4.0 manufacturing. The project places strong emphasis on digitalisation, intelligent operational management, energy efficiency and solutions supporting the long-term vision of carbon-neutral production. The building is targeting an Energy Performance Certificate rating of A.
Key features include LED lighting, a photovoltaic power plant, a rainwater harvesting system and other technologies supporting energy-efficient and sustainable operations. The project also includes infrastructure that will allow production and technological capacities to be expanded in line with the future needs of TKG Automotive Czechia.
Key technical features of the new manufacturing plant include:
- Pressing technology with a capacity of up to 1,600 tonnes, designed for the production of sheet metal automotive body parts.
- A technological tunnel approximately 100 metres long and 5.5 metres deep, running beneath the production area of the hall.
- Infrastructure enabling the automatic removal of production waste from the main operational area.
- Two overhead crane systems with lifting capacities of 32/16 tonnes and 20/15 tonnes, designed for handling materials and pressing dies.
- Three floor levels within the hall, with clear heights of up to 15 metres, designed to accommodate the individual stages of the production process.
